DESIGNING USER-CENTRIC ENVIRONMENTS:
MULTIFUNCTIONAL AND ERGONOMIC WORKSPACES

This project, in collaboration with the Dott Achilles design agency,

focused on redefining work environments for major public sector clients.

The goal was to develop flexible, ergonomic, and technologically integrated workspace concepts to support the evolving work habits and optimize cross-functional collaboration.

My role focused on translating strategic analysis into concrete spatial solutions.

  • Strategy & Synthesis: I led the analysis of research documentation and synthesized insights on a Miro board, ensuring data alignment and easy access to information for the multidisciplinary team.

  • Co-created and co-developed the project concepts as a key member of a highly collaborative two-person team. I actively facilitated brainstorming sessions, ensuring that research insights were directly translated into innovative and actionable design solutions.

  • 2D/3D Design: Responsible for technical execution, I developed 2D floor plans for all concepts and provided 3D modeling for the Sport Vlaanderen project.

  • Client Engagement & Moderation: I co-created and presented the design proposals to the clients, moderating discussions and collecting strategic feedback for iterative solution optimization.

The solutions introduced a multifunctional design to support diverse work modalities and promote employee well-being:

  • Port of Antwerp-Bruges: Design of a multifunctional, immersive environment with adaptable furniture for teamwork, exhibitions, and port storytelling, integrating multimedia tools and touch screens.

  • MOW: Conception of highly flexible spaces using dividing panels and adaptive lighting/sound systems. Development of specific functional zones (e.g., running area, creative spaces) to support creativity and collaboration.

  • Sport Vlaanderen: Development of a modular workspace and sports area layout (Phygital) to encourage physical activity and allow a seamless transition between focused work and dynamic activities.
